Grief Ministry

Motto: H. O. P. E – HOLD ON PAIN ENDS

Mission: To bring tenderness to our loss turning it into triumph by personal and practical assistance at each stage of grieving with recovery process. Come honor the loss of your loved ones in a confidential, warm, and supportive environment.

Purpose: To bring a negative sadness into a positive.

The Good Shepherd Grief Ministry was formed to serve Parish families who have lost a love one to death. The members of the Ministry are trained to offer comfort to the grieving families by giving their time, listening to their thoughts.

Activities include helping in the Liturgical aspects of the funeral mass or blessing service, attendance at the Funeral home services and attending and assisting in the funeral mass. Other activities include follow up calls to the bereaved families and sending cards and celebrating after mass on All Souls’ Day, Veterans and Memorial Day. The ministry meets every First Monday of the month.

We offer private sessions by appointments to help heal the pain. Contact Carol Mondragon 925- 457-3909 or Cynthia Greely 925-437-7846.
